S65 V8's have been known to have rod bearing wear issues. There doesn't seem to be a trend as to when rod bearing failure occurs as some engines go without having issues while others indicate rod bearing issues relatively quickly.
 
This kit has been designed around all Genuine components. To prevent engine failure the rod bearings must be replaced at the first sign of rod bearing failure. This kit features Genuine BMW upper and lower rod bearings as well as Genuine BMW hardware.
